Matthew Silver is a street performer and entertainer who spends his time in NYC being the clown, trickster, or village idiot. Many understand him as street artist that plays with taboos, social norms, and societies rules, through improv interaction with the people on the streets passing by and such. Many don’t know what to think of him or see him as a raving lunatic, pompous “artistic” hipster, or attention-starved child, but people don’t consciously understand the clown has an important role in society. The clown provides the witness permission to step outside their box and see things from another perspective by breaking down invisible boundaries.

Matthew tells us that his inspiration comes from his heart and that he performs for the “smiles and laughter,” to “loosen people’s armor,” and for “opening up a portal for imagination, creativity and love.” He has indeed brightened the world with smiles, touched hearts through laughter, and has also opened up large portals of imagination, creativity and love!
