Eckhart’s profound yet simple teachings have already helped countless people throughout the world find inner peace and greater fulfillment in their lives. At the core of the teachings lies the transformation of consciousness, a spiritual awakening that he sees as the next step in human evolution. An essential aspect of this awakening consists in transcending our ego-based state of consciousness. This is a prerequisite not only for personal happiness but also for the ending of violence on our planet.

Eckhart is a sought-after public speaker and teaches and travels extensively throughout the world. Many of his talks, intensives and retreats are published on CD and DVD. Most of the teachings are given in English, but occasionally Eckhart also gives talks in German and Spanish. Eckhart is also a pioneer in using technology to disseminate his teachings. Through EckhartTolleTV.com, he gives monthly talks, live meditations and answers questions from viewers. In addition to The Power of Now and A New Earth, Eckhart has written a book designed for meditative reading entitled Stillness Speaks. A book consisting of selections from The Power of Now is also available, entitled Practicing the Power of Now.

“I keep Eckhart’s book at my bedside. I think it’s essential spiritual teaching. It’s one of the most valuable books I’ve ever read.”

Dan Hammonds says:

I held this state for a whole morning last month. I walked through the city
in awe of my surroundings, the height and magnificence of the buildings,
the movement of the people, the coolness of the air. Then I decided to sit
in a coffee shop and just be present and I felt this incredible connection
and empathy with all the people around me. I felt this blissful peace come
over me. I just wish I could return to that state again and hold it, but my
mind keeps pulling me out of it.

ABB a.k.a. AstralBooBaby says:

This is some pretty trans-formative information and wisdom that’s being
shared here! Indeed it’s true; some of the best things in life really are
for free! I thank this man and so many others who ‘freely’ share ‘pieces of
themselves’, so that others may be FREE!

Mr Pregnant - Atelston Fitzgerald Holder 1st says:

Spirituality seems to dwell on the non-materialistic attributes of
existence, a connection to the intangible being or the nature or essence of
a man. A divine sacred embodiment or liturgy connection with the
intangible, a meaning to life, one that transcends beyond worldly interest,
an intrinsic joy, unity, acceptance, significance or personal rapport with
the universe.Or an external divine intervention that predicates the
narratives of life. A complete vaguely inexplicable mumbo-jumbo gibberish
that’s contingent on the subjectivity of ones delusion.

Farnoosh Brock says:

Currently: My favorite Eckart Tolle video, a bit long but worth watching
and worth thinking about the concepts … or as Eckart would say, NOT
thinking ;))

NemeanLion says:

This video is fantastic and is the reason I don’t enjoy trying to
assimilate the same info from books. This may be just me, but books contain
too much detatched, factual information that sometimes gets lost in the
reading process. Sometimes books are designed to fit a pattern with
chapters, page amount, etc, that doesn’t flow like an interview can. I’ve
read Eckhart’s books before and never absorbed so much information, as when
he’s physically expressing it. Maybe it’s because when listening to his
words and viewing his body language, i’m using all my senses, including my
powers of observation to absorb what he’s trying to express.

John Bidwell says:

Wonderful!

ChristReigns7 says:

The most terrifying thing in the world is that… God is good, you may
think to yourself that is not terrifying at all, well the thing is we are
not good, we are evil sinners, our hearts are filled with darkness, we have
broken the 10 commandments which is God’s law by lying, stealing etc..so
what does a good, Holy and Just God do with evil sinners like us? well He
must punish us, just as a judge must punish a criminal, the judge must give
him justice, so the just punishment is death then hell, but 2,000 years ago
God the Son came to earth as a man in Jesus Christ to die on the cross in
our place and on the third day He rose from the dead, it is like this we
broke God’s law Jesus paid our fine,so repent of your sin and believe in
Jesus today for your eternal salvation.

ShakinJamacian says:

As much as Tolle seems to have a very interesting perspective that overlaps
with other people in the past – particularly Alan Watts – how exactly can
one live fully now, in the present, without any of the dogmatic uh ohs we
have groomed in our culture that punish such people? Our culture has
fetishized the future and impoverished the present, but I do not see a way
to live outside of falling in line with the status quo and living a facade,
which is to say to follow the orders of tomorrow and not live today. I find
it very difficult personally, for I do not wish to attain degrees, aim for
promotions, and all of this other jazz that keeps a carrot in front of ones
own eyes, but I want to simply *be* in the present, and do something of
interest. I am consistently conditioned and reinforced by others that this
is not “the way to live”, and I feel as a result I cannot live a sincere
life. I feel I am being forced to live a hollow life.

SuburbanoidMisfit111 says:

I tried to feel this guy, but I guess everything ain’t for everybody.

Maurice McDonald says:

LMAO…I couldn’t even make it past the first five minutes. I kept
imagining a lion jumping in and ripping his ass to shreds. THEN, let him
tell me about not getting drawn into emotions and reactions.

The Gnostic Truth says:

He disagrees with superficial identities, but he also disagrees with MORAL
identities. His version of what is permanent is a bland, Godless “goodness”
which includes and does not differentiate evil (although it provides
plentiful conditions of suffering). He deconstructs the common mind, and
this is accurate, but he has not deconstructed the Spiritual Conscience,
which is OVER his “underlying I”. He doesn’t acknowledge time out of
present, but he must surely understand dimensions above other? Qualia
which increase in intensity (pure consciousness as opposed to the dim
awareness of the “little me”, different energy fields he speaks of, etc).
Surely there is a scale between what comes and goes and what doesn’t.

But it would be helpful and important to know what is the MORAL CHARACTER
of that permanent being, and how it might react to the world of the
impermanent, and in some ways better and rather than others.

jimmy roberson says:

I have noticed that If I chose to stay in the moment…I don’t change much
of my future& then later on I suffer. But losing so much in my life…when
I “letgo” I am almost like a Buddhist monk who is wating to die

Phil Harris says:

This man went through some terrible things, and suicidal thoughts, then one
day was awakened (enlightened) through way of intense suffering. The same
goal can be accomplished through years of training. That is the way of the
Buddhists, monks, etc. Some people have the break through as I mentioned
from periods of extreme pain, depression, etc. when one day its just like
BAM! then your outlook on life is completely different. If you want to
learn to understand the feeling the man is trying to convey, you need to
start on a spiritual path, and start practicing meditating, and erasing all
thoughts from the mind. True wisdom is to be found in the darkness, and in
the silence.

littletinker25 says:

For OCD suffers this stuff is amazingly useful.

Nikos Batras says:

Psychology really needs to upgrade its methods. Maybe it’s time to look
back in the buddhist teachings and the perception of reality not through
the mind, but through awareness.

David Spector says:

To the many here who criticize Tolle for earning money through his books
and appearances, here are some questions to consider. Please first explain
why earning a living by such uplifting and inspiring means is bad or evil?
Next, do you seriously believe that it is bad or evil? Are you perhaps only
feeling envious? Do you really feel it is right to pull others down because
they are accomplishing more for humanity than you do? Do you agree that
having an income is useful if your primary motivation is to help people?
Must all spiritual teachers have a primary job outside of being spiritual
so that they can afford to teach in their spare time? Why would it be
better for spiritual teachers to have only a limited time to share their
insights, due to having to earn their living by doing something else?

Marc Vince says:

Question: At 5:22 Echhart tolle says you are the space and the presence. I
have read 2 of his books and watched him several times on video or TV. Even
on Oprah. But whenever I try to take his suggestions, sooner or later my
body (which I believe has an intelligence and knowing of its own) wants to
get up and do something. So even if you are in a beautiful park, which most
of us dont have that luxury, what do you do when all the past months of
trying to be “present” has left you with a crappy present and just as
crappy of a future and this reality of lets say you having to wake up in a
houseful of people you wish were gone, or that your car is not going to
make it or you know the negativity either from other people or things that
will stress you are going to come at you from all directions, how many
times can you keep stopping and just ‘stay in the now?” I can answer that
as an Anthony Robbins coach but I dont understand how Eckart himself would
even be able to do it without all his fame and plenty of people to have
around him that are JUST the type he likes. Even then how can he always be
here now? And also, id like to see Tolle do this being in the space and
presence if he was in the hood and all he heard all day was yelling
,bickering and fighting., and he had no money to move away for a few months
or even yrs!!!! Then what? How do you make this work as a lifestyle for all
times and places??? The mind control would to me have to be almost
superhuman. Is everyone capable of doing it?

Kirsten Johnson says:

I love that — has anything been here the entire time, through falling in &
out of love, through a few illnesses, through all your years..? Great
simplification of what makes us us!

Anja Dekkers says:

Is the earth awakening? I don’t know about this. Can people comment who had
good experiences and feel better lately? For myself, i wish to feel better.
I read so much about the earth that’s awakening, but also have read things
about it being to late, and that not enough change has happened.

CoohMe says:

Eckhart Tolle is an incredible inspiration whom I admire with utmost
respect. However, as much as I learned a lot from watching this, I disagree
with his way of identifying whether an action be from the self or the I.

You see, selflessness action does not exist, for energy of any kind feeds
itself as well as the other, it is the shape of the number 8. You being one
circle, the other person or thing being the other circle, connected to look
like 8.

He said it himself and actually contradicted himself when he first referred
to the I as the “ego”. We act only when there is connection, a two-way
cycle of energy that allows us to act for both parties’ benefits. If what
Eckhart says is true, that we can act selflessly, only to effect the other,
then we would feel no difference between giving a hug or a kick.

We move ‘through’ our thoughts, and act our thoughts constantly. Therefore,
we do not act from the I within but we feel and fulfill connection from the
I within. When we help someone, it is to feed the connection between their
true self and your true self, no action is committed by the true self
itself. All it can do is observe, and hopefully it will learn to observe
with a pure heart, form an honest standpoint, and move through the thoughts
as to bring both parties deeper into the universe’s flow of connection.

madelena1234 says:

Sorru if I get torn to shreds here, but there is something about Tolle that
I find both inspiring and annoying. He has a tendency to take on this
“superior” attitude to Others thinking that they do not have the capacity,
or have done what he has done, or know anything about their own spirit. I
know he has helped many, and I appreciate him, but he does have a rather “I
know it all” superior air that I find so disconcerting even though what he
says is correct. I do not think one has to be on a park bench to be
enlightened, one could be enlightened any place.

Thomas Forlano says:

Where we are done grappling with ideas, the mystery of life awaits. A New
Message from God, newmessage.org, is asking not simply for people to learn
to work with the mind and to attain a greater awareness, it is calling to
the life purpose in each of us beyond all social and religious
conditioning. If your spiritual understanding is not connecting you to
your reason for being here and to the people with whom your gifts can be
learned of and contributed, then where is it taking you? Why allow your
spiritual inclination to lead you astray when it is meant to be focused on
what is simple, necessary and profound in answer to the real needs of the
world?

dwhite2173 says:

a hypnotist can hypnotize you and make you believe you are a cow, does that
mean you are a cow. Truth… what is the EVIDENCE that anything this man
said was true. we know things are beautiful and if you stop and think you
will think and you can imagine all types of things. What is the EVIDENCE
that any of this mumbo jumbo will lead anywhere. its like smoking weed, it
brings a momentary state of happiness, but you will say, when the high is
over, reality is back and i still have to live and die.
What is on the other side of the wall? who has been on the other side of
the wall and returned to tell us what is truly on the other side of the
wall. without that fact everything else is subjective MUMBO JUMBO.
There was one who claimed to have come from the other side of the wall,
came and went back. Was seen by thousands, reported by many eye witnesses
which died for what they said they saw. a man which did things no one had
ever done even men who set on park benches.
If im going to believe something im going to believe the testimony of JESUS

Michelangelo Caravaggio says:

awareness always changes too, everything does, awareness isn’t anymore
static than thoughts, feelings or sensations, and awareness itself is a
kind of thought. sometimes we’re more aware than others, and there’s
probably spaces between awareness just as there are spaces between
thoughts. There is nothing static, no mental or physical atom, everything
comes and goes, there’s nothing firm on which to stand, existence is flux,
if you lie and rely on anything for too long, you’ll fall.

randywatchingbush says:

Thank you so much for sharing this candid & personal experience w/Eckhart
.. i do believe i am envious..lol.. much appreciated my friend.
Peace

dustyblue2ify says:

Eckhart has some inspirations of the self but once one empowers their
essence in self they need to also engage in life to be proactive for
addressing truth at all cost like for instance do we just sit and ponder
self as the USA and Globally takes on a NWO for control or Agenda 21??? No
I think and feel Not! Sure to be centered and allow flow for what is in
one’s life for releasing past trauma or old self worn out paradigms but as
one heals such awaken to being proactive in life for your Highest Good not
sitting on some mountain top pondering but engage in life as being your
true purpose for evolutionary change! Peace and Keep Shining on Your Path!

Andrew Coleman says:

Man Eckhart is that dude! Real people feel and understand him. The phonies
and fakes hate it!

Kat Zolita Mason says:

Beautiful and profound. xxx

fios isolas says:

YOU ARE AWARENESS, consciousness, a timeless presence, fullness of life and
emptiness, according to Eckhart. Tolle, in this thought provocative
interview. Is this Awareness related to Knowledge, the inner intelligence,
the inner mind that God has placed inside you?

The Gnostic Truth says:

“Wherever we look there’s change”. Fluctuation does not contradict
identity, Even if the present moment “were all there is” (which is not
self-evident), then there would still be the fact that fluctuation occurs,
which means that even the present moment is not a stable basis for
identifying something’s “persistent identity”. One’s thinking and feeling
can be relevant to discovering the Truth, in that some types of thinking
and feeling are convertible into the right kind of Listening to the True
Self.

Alex Adam says:

Eckhart Tolle is expounding the philosophies of Buddhism and the Far
Eastern spiritual Enlightenment which Thankfully is replacing Christianity
in the world.

mmadigest says:

Very powerful stuff, thanks a lot for sharing.

Brett Almond says:

I was listening to “Stillness Speaks” by Eckhart Tolle last night while
driving. I just love his teachings. This video I have watched the first
part and seems really good with #eckharttolle in it. Going to watch the
rest later. Such a breath of fresh air though about us living truly in the
moment. When we can sit back and realise that we are not our thoughts. When
we can observe our thoughts we can be more of who we are.
